JASON LANSING
Growing up in Palm Springs, CA, I was really lucky that my mom one day asked, “Do you want to try acting lessons?” Training led to nabbing roles in commercials and tv shows. I’ll never forget my first Lays Potato Chip commercial, shooting 5 episodes of Freaks and Geeks, or watching John Goodman work on the set of Normal, Ohio. Nor will I forget being directed by my Reading Rainbow and Star Trek hero, LeVar Burton, in a Disney TV movie featuring Katie Segal.
Chapman University is where I went for my film production education. While there, I was handpicked for the Academy of TV Arts and Sciences Internship (Emmy’s) and spent my summer assisting post-production on many shows under the FOX banner. My first job out of school was Field-Producing and Editing the Emmy Award winning “True Life” on MTV. I was a one man band (camera, lighting, sound) that traveled to my subjects’ locations and docu-followed for weeks at a time.
Since then, I’ve navigated my way into the world of branded content. To be honest, there is nothing better than breaking down everything that makes a brand a brand— their how, what and why, the brand colors, fonts, and messaging— reassembling it into a new piece of art and witnessing their joy at having us hit the mark so precisely. I’m grateful to have written, directed, and edited for the following brands and I hope to be of service to yours in the near future: Pepsi, Chevrolet, Oil of Olay, Nokia, Ikea, Vick’s, Tide, Toyota, AT&T, Old Spice, Walgreens, HP, Marriott, Gillette, Mattel, Mary Kay, Revlon, Kohl’s, and the Okinawa, Japan Board of Tourism.
